Heab Rina is 13 years old, she is in grade 5 at the Masako Sato school in Putreng village Dak Dam commune, Orang district, Mondulkiri province.
There are five members in her family, her parents and three sisters including her. They have own farmland, it’s about a hectare to growing rice. This farmland can produce 900kg to 1000kg of rice per year but this year it can produce only 700kg to 800kg only because the weather is hot and it doesn’t have enough water so the rice doesn’t grow much and also they have to return half of the rice to the farmland owner because this farmland they just rent from other not theirs own land. So to get more income her father goes to works as worker at the construction site and get money about 5 dollars per day. During raining season her parents are hired day by day to plant cassava, Coffee, pepper and during harvest season they do harvest such as cassava, cashew nut, pepper, rice and Coffee to earn more income. Haeb Rina helps her parents to do housework and look after her sisters while her parents are busy work outside whole day.
In the future, Rina wants to become a teacher because she loves this job and it can make a difference in the lives of the young generation students to get a better future. So Rina wants to share her experience and knowledge to the students in her village. Rina also wants to help her family to get out of poor.
