Khonn Sokthen is 15-year-old, grade 8 at Kimino Yume Mezaseba Kanau School in Romduol village,Varin commune, Varin District, Siem Reap province, Cambodia.
Sokthen has nine siblings, four sisters and five brothers, and she is the eighth child in the family. She lives with her parents in Varin village, Varin commune, Varin district, Siem Reap province. Sokthen’s parents are farmers, and they grow some rice and potatoes on their small amount of farmland. It is hard for Sokthen to attend school every day because she has to help with housework, and sometimes help her parents harvest the rice.
In the future, Sokthen wants to become a teacher.
