Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

To Be Selected

Kin Reaksa is 11 years old, a student in 7th grade of CREDO School in Angkarnh Village, Metoek Commune, Bakan District, Pursat Province. She lives in Chentay village, Metoek Commune.

She has three siblings. She’s the second child in her family. Because of poverty, her parents left her and her sibling with the grandmother and they went to work in Thailand. So all their children are under taking care of grandmother. Her parents sent her $50 per month to support her and her siblings study materials and some other amount of money to the grandmother for the supporting of the whole family. Out of waiting those money every month, her grandmother could not find any extra income to fulfill the gab of the need in the family. Every day, Reaksa goes to school with her bicycle. After school, she has to help doing homework and help her grandmother to cook and sometimes goes to the market to buy food. She likes reading books in her free time.

In the future, she wants to be a teacher, because she thinks that it is a good job. She wants to teach and share knowledge to the children in the village of her homeland.
