Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Kong Sarem is 12 years old, She is studying at grade 7 B of Hikari school at Songkea village, Snoul commune, Kralanh district, in Siem Reap province.

Kong Sarem is the only child and she is a pupils. Now she live with her grandma. Her father’s name is Kuk Kung. He is 36 years old (has a new wife) and her mother’s name is Reourn Saret (died). Sarem lives with her grandparents in Thearsna Village far from school about 5 km, And she goes to school by her friend. Her grandparent is very poor because her grandfather is a cripple. They has owned half hectare of farmland for growing rice. The rice can produce 500 to 1000Kg of rice in per year. After the rice’s yield collection her grandma raising chicken duck and fishing and support by her aunt and uncle for their daily consumption in a whole year. As for Kong Sarem, she studies very hard and she is a good student in the class. After school, she do housework and help her grandma to take care her grandfather. In her free time, she likes to read the books and review the lessons from school.

For Kung Sarem’s future goal: She wants to be a teacher in her village to earn money to support her family. And she wants to help all the kid in her village.
