Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Len Saunita

Len Saunita is 9 years old and she is in grade 4 at The Wahrenbrock Family School #235 in Takeo province, Ko Antet district, Pech Sar commune, Chong Angkar village.

Saunita has three members in her family. There are two parents and one sister. She is first child in her family. Her sister is so young and she study in grade 1 with her school. Saunita’s parents are farmers and they have own 40a field farmlands which they have cropped two yields of rice and they have produced average is 1,200kg per year and they can get  680,000 Riels per year from selling rice and they keep some rice for daily eating. As the family is poor, they have no enough money to support her studies and also they need to pay everyday for food, medicine and cloths.. etc. Saunita usually rides a bicycle to school. Her house from school is about 2.5km and she is a good student, even the school is far but she never absent. After school, she helps her mother to do housework and look after her sister.

In the future, she wants to become a teacher, because she want to share her knowledge to the children in her community as well as. Moreover she wants to earn money to support her family.
