Ly Sarath is 13 years old and she was born in Sam Oung village, Meanrith commune, Sandann district and Kampong Thom province in the countryside of Cambodia. She is in the 7th grade at The Naohiro Nishiya School, which is located in Opork Samky village, Meanreth commune, Sandann district, Kampong Thom province.
There are 5 members in her family, Parents, two brothers and one sister including her and she is the second child in her family. Her father’s name is Mr, Meas Kum and her mother’s name is Mrs, Chan Yeam and they are farmers. The family has owns farmland for half-hectare for growing rice. Sarath’s family has to growing rice twice in a year to produce one tone of rice. Sarath’s mother works bagging rice for $5 in per day and her father works in construction making $25-$37.5/month to help the family’s daily expense. However they has more income but it still not enough for support the family living.
In the future Sarath wants to be a nurse because wish to look after her family and she wants to help all the people in her community. Additionally, she wants to help and support her family to live in a better life.
