Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Ram Soly

Ram Soly is a 13-year-old student who attends 7th grade at The Nozomi School, #348 donated by David Sneider and Naomi Pollock Family. The Nozomi School is located in Khchass Village, Khchass Commune, Saut Nikum district, and Siem Reap Province.

Soly is the last child in the family, with one older sister. Her father passed away when she was a baby. Soly and her sister have no their own house and her mother works in Thailand as a worker and nowadays, Soly and her sister have been living with her grandma. Previously, her family had their own land to grow rice, but after her father was severely sick, so her mother decided to sell all land to get cash for paying her father’s treatment. Even my father was treated by paying numerous monies but he wasn’t alive because of the severe ailment. Soly is a student who pays much attention to studying hard to become a good student. She always helps friends and teachers at school.

In her free time, she likes to read books and review the lessons from school and help her grandma to cook meals. Soly wants to be a doctor when she grows up because she wants to help the people in the village and would love to earn some money to support her mother too.
