Ren Nav is a 12-years-old student in 5st Grade at The Chres School in Kampot Province, Kampong Trach District, Boeng Sala khang Tbong Commune, Phum Chres Village.
There are six people in the family. Ren Nav has four siblings. She has one brother and three sisters. She is the youngest child in the family. Her father’s name Ten Sarom, 43 year-old is a farmer. Her mother’s name Ngon Vanny, 40 year-old is a farmer and housework. Her family is pool and her parents didn’t have money for enough to support a whole family every day.
For about her family’s farmland, they have owned half hectare of farmland for growing rice. The rice can produce 15 bags of rice in per year (1 bag of rice is equal 55kgs to 60kgs). After the rice’s field collection her parents sold out for 5 bags and got $80 to paid back to shop owner for the cost of fertilizers and the remaining money is paid for the food but it was not enough for daily expenses in a whole year. They sometimes, they worked as a farmers for the villagers around the villages to get some wage around $5.00 per day for a person during the rice season for family to support their children to go to school. Although, their parents’ monthly income could not support the family well but they felt happily to send their daughter to school and encouraged Ren Nav to get success. They thanked to donor so much who was kindhearted to assist Ren Nav.
Ren Nav is a good student in the class and she always studied very hard every day. Ren Nav has a home far away from school, but she’s never absence for her class. After school she helps take care of her brother, her sisters and help her parents’ work as well. She also takes time to study more at home. In her free time, she likes to read the books, review the lessons from school. She determines to finish high school and wants to be a teacher so that she can teach the young people in the village and all the people around the world if she can teach also. She wants her family to live a better life in the future as well.
