Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

To Be Selected

Roeun Seyka is a 13-year-old studed in the 5th grade at The Cambodia Hope School in Melum village, Melum commune, Boribour district, Kompong Chhnang province.

Seyka is the eldest child in her family, and has one younger brother and sister. Her Father’s name is Kem Kusal and he is a farmer and her mother’s name is Van Sothea and she work as a cuts potatoes to earn an income.  The family owns a small bit of land, in which they growing the  various fruit to sell, earning 100,000 riels per month. Even they get the income but is still not enough to cover their expense for a whole year. Nowoday they live in a poor family and sometime they don’t have money to buy the school supplies for their children.

Seyka is good student and daughter. She works hard in class, and when she is not studying, she is helping her father with housework.

In the future she wants to become a Khmer teacher. She wants to share her knowledge and teach the children in her commune. Moreover, she wants to earn money to support her family.
