Roth Dany is 15 years old, and she is in grade 8 at The Doris Dillon School in Phnom Toch village, Sdach Kong Khang Tboung Commune, Ben Teay Meas District, Kampot province.
She is the sixth child in the family and she has six siblings. Her father’ name Mr. Roth Saroeun and her mother’ name Mrs. En Roeun Her parents do farming and they have a small house for a large family. The family owns haft hectare of farm land; they can earn up $ 300 a year in rice production. As this is not enough to support the family’s needs, Dany’s father commonly has to work out side. Her father’ has to carry the sack of rice for others. One day he can earn $5 to $6. This means that even with this additional income, the parents do not have enough money to support the family and their children’s everyday needs. Dany commonly has to miss school to stay home and help taking care her siblings or help in the rice field and other housework. Dany and her sibling sometimes eat rice for their meal.
She dreams to finish high school. She wanted to be a teacher. She likes teaching students in her local area. Moreover, she wants to earn money to support her family.
