Seang Sreynich is a 9 years- old girl in grade 4 of Vasaskolan School in Angbaksey village, Cheang Toung commune, Tram Kak district, Takeo province.
There are six members in her family. She has three brothers and a sister. She is the first child in the family. Her parents have some land for growing rice. However, this land can hardly support the family for all their daily needs. Thus, they have to borrow money from their neighbors to buy rice and other food to feed the family. Because of this difficult situation, Sreynich must help with the housework and harvesting rice in the field.
