Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Sek Dav is 17-years-old, grade 10 at The Kimino Yume Mezaseba Kanau School in Romduol village,Varin commune, Varin District, Siem Reap province.

Dav has five siblings, two sisters and three brothers, and she is the second child in family. Her parents are farmers and they own two hectares of farmland. Their income from farming is about $20-25 per month. As a daughter, Dav has to help her mother to do housework every day. In addition, Dav is old enough to help in rice field, so she has to help her parents during harvest seasons. In her free time she like to read book, do exercise, and listening to music. She try to study because she hope that her dream will come true by education. She said that only education could help her to change her life in the future.

In the future, she wants to be a good teacher because she wants to develop her community by giving education.
