Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Ti Kimchai is 17 years old, She is studying at grade 8 of Hikari school at Songkea village, Snoul commune, Kralanh district, in Siem Reap province.

Ti Kimchai is the second child of her family. She has 4 sisters and 1 brother. Her father’s name is Yun Ti. He is 43 years old and her mother’s name is Leab Pha. She is 42 years old. And they are farmers. Kimchai lives with her mother and her father married a new wife. She lives in Thearsna Village far from school about 5 km, And she go to school by ride a bicycle. Her family is poor and owned one hectare of farmland for growing rice. The rice can produce 500 to 1000Kg of rice in per year. After the rice’s yield collection her mother raising chicken duck and fishing like fish frog crab snail and make mat for their daily consumption.

As for Ti Kimchai, she studies very hard and she is a good student in the class. After school, she cooks food for her sister and her brother, does housework and helps her mother make mat. In her free time, she likes to read the books and review the lessons from school.

For Ti Kimchai’s future goal: She wants to be a teacher at Primary school to earn money to support her family. And she wants to help all the kid in her village.
