Latin is a 13-year-old and she is a student in the 7th grade at The Cambodia Hope Schoolin Melum village, Melum commune, Boribour district, Kompong Chhnang province.
Latin has one older brother. Her father’s name is OL Khimoang and her mother’s name is Mut Srin. They are both farmers. They have own half hectare of farmland, in which they produce 2000 kg, earning 250$ a year for support their food everyday but it still not enough ot cover their expenses. Additionally, her father is a construction worker earning 20,000R Riels a day. However, they must give half of their rice harvest to the farmer that they buy their farming materials from, which means they do not have enough to support their family for the entire year.
Latin is a good student and daughter. She works hard in class, and when she is not studying, she is helping her mother with housework, such as cleaning and cooking.
Latin wants to become a Khmer teacher when she grows up, because she wants to share her knowledge and teach the children in her community.
