Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Yon Chantheb is 9 years old and she is a student in 4th grade at the Sunnyside in Prasat village, Tong Rong commune, Prey Chhor district, Kompong Cham province.

She is the fourth child in the family and she has five siblings. Her parents are farmers. They have own farmland for 50A of farmland and they can produce for 700kg in a year and they had sold for 350kg and gets 87.50$ for buying food and they keep some rice for everyday eating and this length of land does not give a lot profit when they cultivate. So, they go to work for other villagers when the farming is ended and she can earn around $6 per day for support her whole family but they still live in a hard situation. Sometime, She doesn’t have enough money to buy the school supplies for her children.

After school, Chantheb always helps her parent to do housework and goes to works at the rice field.

In the future she wants to be a government staff because she want to help the Cambodia to develop more and more profits.
