The Taiko Iwase School

September, 2001

Mr. Kong Veak is a farmer living near the new school building. He is married and he and his wife have seven children and two grandchildren. Two of his children, aged 16 and 19, and his oldest grandchild are studying at the school.

In Their Own Words. . .

On the new building: “ I like this new building because it looks very nice. I hope that the students at this school, will try hard to learn.”

On school subject:  “ I think tat it is important for my children to learn computer skills and English. If they know these, then they can find good fobs easily.”

On the effect of the building: “ I think that this new building has developed the village because all of the kids in the village can come to learn here. We must maintain it and keep it well, because we have never had anything like this at all. We will need it for the long-term, because the next generation will need to use it as well.”

Massage for Taiko Iwase: “ I and very delighted about having this new school for my children and grandchildren to study at. May Taiko Iwase live over 100 years.”
