The Aeon Delonix School

(August, 2001)

Kuong Nuot is a 13-year-old second grade student at the Aeon Delonix School.  She was ranked first among her 28 classmates at the end of last year.  Her mother is a farmer and her father is the village chief.  She is the youngest of seven children, and all of her siblings have stopped studying, either to get married or to work as farmers in the village.

In Their Own Words. . .

On her future: “I want to go to secondary school and maybe university.  I want to be a nurse because I want to help the people living near here when they are sick.”

On her free time: “When I am not in school, I help my parents to farm.”

Message for the Aeon Group “Thank you for this nice, clean new building.”
