Sun Thoy is a 12-year-old third grade student at the Aeon Papaya School.  He was ranked fourth out of the 55 students in his class at the end of last year.

In Their Own Words. . . 

On the new building: “I like the new building.  It is very nice compared to the old one.  It’s safe and I’m not scared of going to school.”

 
On school subjects: “I like mathematics and Khmer because I want to learn how to read books and calculate.”

 
On his future: “I have never left this village, and none of my siblings has ever gone to secondary or high school.  I want to try go to those schools.  I don’t know what I will do in the future.”
