Ran Chanthan and her brother, sophara (August, 2001)

Ran Chantha is a 10-year-old second grade student at the Aeon Rain Tree School.  She goes to school with her older brother Sophara, who is a 13-year-old fourth grade student.  Their parents are farmers, and their father is also the village chief.

In Their Own Words. . .

On the new building: “I love the new building because I have never seen a building like this.”

On school subjects: “I like mathematics best because I like numbers.  When I grow up, I will be able to sell things and have my own small business.”

If I could go anywhere…: “I would go with my family to Angkor to view the temples, because it is the most famous thing in Cambodia.”

Message for the Aeon Group: In English:  “Thank you!”  [She and her brother are taking private English lessons.]
