Neung Sophal, a 13-year-old second grade student at the school.

(August, 2001)

Neung Sophal is a 13-year-old second grade student at the Bor Tangsuor Nippon Foundation School.  He was ranked tenth among his 40 classmates and has one older sister studying at the same school.  His father searches for gems and his mother makes wine.  One of his brothers is also in second grade, at the same school.  His home is about 1 km from the new school.

In Their Own Words. . .

On the new building: “I like the new school building because it makes me happy.  I just came from Kampong Cham province about 4 or 5 months ago.  I like all subjects because I want to know all of them.”

On his free time: “When I have free time I like to help my mother and when I meet the friends at school I like to read together because I want to learn.”

On his future: “I want to be a teacher in the future because I like teaching students.”

Message for the donor: “I thank The Nippon Foundation organization very much.”
