The Chroy Sdao Nippon

Foundation School

Mr. Kong Seng Hun is the school director of the Chroy Sdao Nippon Foundation School.

On himself: I am married with one son and two daughters. My oldest daughter is 14 years old, and is a fifth grade student at the Nikum primary school. My other daughter is eight years old and is a first grade student at the Chroy Sdao Nippon Foundation School. My son is not yet old enough to go to school

On the new building: I am very happy with the new building because it is safe for our children to study in. If we compare it with the old one, it’s so different because nobody is worried about the rain disturbing the classes anymore.

On the new building: There is a computer installed in the new building and we have a teacher for it. I think that in the future our kids will benefit from this and will be able to study at university.

On teaching: I became a teacher in this village in order to help develop this country

On school subjects: We teach four subjects in primary school. I think that most of the students like to study Khmer and social studies. Khmer helps them to better communicate with their families or other people. Social studies is important in educating children to be disciplined citizens.

On keeping the students interested in school: I give books or pencils to the top five students of each class, when they finish the semester.
