The Jack Bora Feeney School

(October, 2001)

Ven Sa is a 10-year-old first grade student at the Jack Bora Feeney School.  He just started studying this year.  His older sister is in second grade at the school, and his two younger brothers are too young for school.  His parents make rice wine to sell in the local market.

In Their Own Words

On the new building: “I like the new building because it is new and nice.  We used to have class under the mango tree, so this is much better.”

On his hobbies: “I take care of my cows and my younger brothers.”

If I could do anything…:  “I would go to visit my grandmother in Kampong Som and help my parents because they are tired.”

On his future: “I want to be a wine maker so that I can earn money.”

Message for the donors: “I would like to thank Bernadette and Michael Feeney and I wish them good luck.”
