School
Mr. Phon Pring lives in the village where The Janna Roeters (2000-08-25) School is located
He has nine children: five girls and four boys. All of them study at the school. His house is about half a kilometer from the school. Mr. Phon is forty-eight years old, and has been farming all his life. He also does carpentry to supplement his income.
On the new building: | I am very happy about the new school. The old school had too many distractions for the students. There were holes in the roof, holes in the walls, and the whole building was slanted. These problems are gone now. This school helps the children. I am grateful that this school was built.

On flooding: | The floods come about every three years, but there’s no way to predict it. When it’s flooded, we can’t farm rice. We only wait for the flood to cease, which can take as long as three months. Last year, it lasted from august until September. |
