In Their Own Words. . .
On the new building: | “I like the new building because it looks nicer than the old one and has enough tables for all of the students to sit.”
On school subjects: | “I like Khmer class best, because I want to learn how to read. I don’t like social science because I do not understand the lessons well.”
On his free time: | “I carry water for us to use and chop our firewood. I like to go fishing in the river with my friends.”
On his future: | “I plan to graduate from primary school and continue studying after that. My parents also want me to go to high school, but only if they have enough money.”
If I could go anywhere…: | “I would organize a festival because that way I can receive merit.” |
