Foundation School

Leat Lim is attending the fourth grade.
Among the 46 students in his class he was ranked number 21.

On his family: “I am 16 years old, and I am the first born of my family. I have two younger brothers and two sisters who are studying at the Kan Tourt Nippon Foundation School. My parents are both farmers. The distance from my home to school is about 150 meters. I come here on foot.”

On the new building: “I am very happy with the new building because the new one is built of concrete. Anyway, the new building is safer. Ever since its completion I have liked to come and study very much. It doesn’t disturb me while it rains.

On the future:

I would like to study mathematics so I could work in finance or business.

On his free time:

I like playing soccer. It helps to keep my body fit, and I feel strong after the end of the match. When I am at home I like doing housework in order to help my parents.”

If he could go anywhere:

“I would go to Angkor Wat because I have never seen it.”

If I could do anything:

“I would read books. I enjoy reading but we don’t have enough to read.”

On the future:

“I want to study at secondary school, because I want a good job in the future. I want to become an educated person in this village and society”.
