Foundation School

Chhem Tith Seyha is a fourth grade student at the Kbal Thnal Nippon Foundation School
Out of the “over forty” students in his class, he was ranked twenty-first.

On himself:

I am eleven years old and have three siblings. They are all at school. My father is a farmer, and my mother is a teacher. My house is situated almost three kilometers away from school, and it takes me thirty minutes by bike to get here.

On the new building:

I am happy to study here. The building is new, the walls have many nice pictures, and it has door and windows to let in the fresh air when they are opened. I didn’t like studying at the old building, because it was too old. When the wind blew, the whole building would sway.

Favorite subject:

Math. It’s important that you are able to use it when you trade.

In his spare time:

I cut banana trees to make pig-feed. I also study.

In the future:

I want to be a farmer to grow rice and feed my family. If I could be anything, however, I would be a teacher and pass my knowledge onto the next generation.

If he could travel anywhere:

I would go to see my friends and relatives around my house.
