The Cambodia Rural School Project

The Kbal Thnal Nippon

Foundation School

Mrs. Say Huon is the head of the Kbal Thnal Nippon Foundation School committee.

On herself:

I am sixty-five years old. I have five children. My seven grandchildren are all at school. I am already retired and spend most of my time at a pagoda practicing Buddhism. I also chair the school committee, which was started in 1987. The committee organizes such activities as fencing the school or collecting donations for school materials. When the school needs anything, the director will contact me.

On the new building:

I am very happy with the new school. The village didn’t have a school before and we had long desired to have one. And our desire realized the construction of the previous school building with the money raised from different sources. I also used my own money for it. This time I want to thank the donor for supporting us with a new school for the students of the village.

This lady, Mrs. Say made a point to mention, was the villager who donated the land where the Kbal Thnal Nippon Foundation school was constructed. The area of the school grounds is about 2500 m².
