On herself:

I am forty years old and have five children. Four of them are at this school. My husband and I are both farmers. We grow rice, but don’t grow enough to feed our family. It all depends on how much rain we get in the rainy season. When we don’t have enough money, we go to a jungle and look for vines to sell. We use the vines to make cages or baskets. There are mines in this area, but I’m not afraid. I don’t have a choice anyway. If I don’t go to the jungle when we need money, well…

On the new building:

I’m very happy with the new school. I encourage my children to go to school every day to learn as much as they can from teachers. My children are also very happy to study at the new school. The building where they used to study before was very old. It was made of wood with a tin roof. The student did not come to school every day. Now that we have the new school, the number of students is increasing. |
