Nhuy Proth, a 13-year-old 3rd grade student at the Non No School.

Nhuy Proth is a 13-year-old 3rd grade student at the Non No School. She is a member of the Pnong ethnic minority which lives in this mountainous region. She is ranked 5th among 20 students in the class. She has seven siblings and she is the third child in the family. Her father is a member of staff at the provincial Trade Department and her mother is a farmer.

“My favorite subject is Khmer language because I want to know how to speak Khmer and want to know about Khmer culture. I want to study until grade 12 because I want to get more knowledge.”

“I want to be a nurse when I grow up because I want to cure people in my village.”

“I am very happy to have a new school building because it’s convenient to study in and it is very nice.”
