Mrs. Ney Sochan is the deputy director of the O Ampil Nippon Foundation School.
She is 35 years old

On herself:

I have four children; two sons and two daughters. One son and one daughter are attending this school. My husband is a farmer. I’ve been a teacher since 1998. I also became deputy director the same year. I teach second grade. Our house is 400 meters from the school.

On the new building:

The new school has made me very happy. Both teachers and students are happy coming to school now. That’s different from before because when we only had the old school, the rain would always disturb the classes being taught. The sunlight was also very hot and would shine into the classroom. The old building had a tin roof. After the new school was built, the villagers around here have been encouraged to participate in maintaining the school, for example by building the gate and the fence around the school. That’s a change from what used to be the case, where nobody took any interest in what happened to the school.
