The O Lahong Nippon

Foundation School

Mr. Chhoun Hon is a villager by the O Lahong Nippon Foundation School. He is 46 years old

On himself:

I’m a soldier. I’ve been a soldier since 1978. In the past eight years I have lived in this village. I used to live in Samlot. When the Khmer Rouge joined the government, I was sent here to guard a weapons depot. I used to be a soldier for the Khmer Rouge. I have one son and three daughters. Two of my daughters are studying at this school. My wife is a farmer, and so am I when I’m home. I spend half a month living at the base and another half month at home. My house is 200 meters down the road.

On the new building:

I am very glad that the community here had their wishes fulfilled and received this school. The old school was in an old house. The new school is very different from the old one because at the old school the roof would leak, while at the new school it is comfortable and secure from the rain.
