I sell noodles here every day. Customers are mostly students, but sometimes also adults. I started this shop half a month ago, just after the school had started. I have two daughters and one son. None of my children go to this school but my two nephews do. My husband is a farmer. We’ve lived in this village only for three months. We moved here because this land is good for farming. Before we moved to this place, we lived in Pursat. Most of the villagers live here for a long time, but there are new families moving in here every month or so. Our house is just down the road from here.

On the new building:

I am very happy to have this new school in the village. My nephews used to go to the old school 500 meters away before they started here, but that place had only a roof and no walls. And there weren’t enough desks for everyone. My nephews like going to the new school. They didn’t like the old school very much, though. Since the new school was built, more villagers are encouraging their children to go to school and study. |
