Kao Kamsoth is a 13 years old fourth grade student at the Kandal Nippon Foundation School.
He was ranked seventh out of the 23 students in his class.
| On himself:

My father repairs bicycles. He is also a farmer, together with my mom. I have a sister and a brother; my brother studies at school with me. Our house is almost a kilometer from here.

| On the new building:

I like the new school and it makes me want to study. I used to study here, but went on to another school after I passed my exam. The roof of that school was full of holes, and so were the walls. Whenever it would rain, we would get wet.

| On his summer vacation:

I will help my parents with their work. I’ll look after our cows and catch fish.

| If he could make any wish:

A car! So that I can be a taxi driver.
|
| In the future:

I want to be a teacher.
Not a taxi driver? I need to earn money first before I can buy a car.

| If he could travel anywhere:

I would go to Phnom Penh and see the Royal Palace.
