The Rachel Trout and

Emma Tate School

Polvan Dy is in sixth grade at the school

In Their Own Words. . .

On the new building:  “I am very glad that the new building is finished because the new school is clean and made with concrete, which I have never seen before.”

On school subjects: “I like the subject of mathematics because it makes it easy for me to understand a lot and I can also learn how to calculate.  When the teacher is teaching mathematics, I focus on it.  I also like social science and Khmer because they teach me about the history of Cambodia and so it is very important for me.

On her family: “I am 13 years old and I have one brother and two sisters.  My oldest sister is studying at the secondary school, and my brother is in third grade at this school.  My younger sister is only three, so she is too young to go to school.  My mother and father are farmers, but my mother also sells rice from our home.”

Message to the donor:  “I thank Mr. and Mrs. Rinaldo and promise to study my hardest.  I wish the donor good luck and happiness.”
