Phat Srey Mom is a fourth grade student at the Sam Seb Nippon Foundation School.
I her class of twenty-eight, she was ranked first.

On herself: I am fourteen years old. I have five brothers and sisters. My parents are farmers. My house is about three kilometers away from the school, and it takes me thirty minutes to walk to school every day.

On her studies: I am good in social studies, because I like to recite the lesson. I have a good memory. I want to continue my studies after primary school, into higher education, but I am worried my mom will not let me go because there is too much work to be done at home. My mom is the decision maker.

On her future: I want to be a nurse or a doctor when I grow up. As a doctor, I can cure people who are ill, especially members of my family when they fall sick. I must charge them money when I treat them, but I would charge them a reasonable cost, and if they are really poor I would not charge them a cent.

On the free time: At home, I sweep the house, cook, and grow vegetables. During recess, I like playing jump rope with my classmates.
