The Cambodia Rural School Project
The Samdech Ta Nippon
Foundation School
Thong Thy is a farmer near the Samdech Ta Nippon Foundation School.
On herself: | I am fourty-five years old. I have three daughters and three sons. One of my daughters is a first grade student at the Samdech Ta Nippon Foundation School. I work as a farmer. I work every day. I grow rice, potato, jack fruit, mango, coconut, pineapple, and rambuttan. I usually sell the produce in the market. My house is more than one kilometre from the school.

On the new building: | I am glad to know that my daughter has a new school to go to. There were so many problems with the previous school building. It was very old, and rain was a constant issue. Whenever it rained, the students couldn’t study. All the villagers here appreciate the new building. So we try and take care of the school. We would never let anything happen to the school. The school belongs to the village. |
