In Their Own Words

On the new building: On the new building: “I am happy with the new school because it is near to my house.  It does not waste time.  Before, I had to go to Khloy Primary School, about 4 km away, and it took me 45 minutes to ride there on my bike.  Now it only takes me 15 minutes to get to school.”

On school subjects: On school subjects:  “For me, Khmer language is easy to study.  It is my strongest subject and my favorite class.  I hate applied sciences because it is difficult to study.”

On leaving the village: On leaving the village: “I have been to Phnom Penh and the provincial capital, Kompong Cham city, several times.  I haven’t visited anywhere else.  If I was able to go abroad, I would go to Great Britain.  On television, I saw that that country was very beautiful.”

Message for Donor: Message for Donor: “I would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Inoue for building a school for me and for all of my friends in the village.”
