The Cambodia Rural School Project

The Svay Sor Nippon

Foundation School

Mrs. Kham Kun lives in the village where the Svay Sar Nippon Foundation School is located.

On herself:

I am fifty-one years old, and I have five children. I am a rice farmer. Now I am worried about the rain, because we haven’t had good rain for a while. I also sell snacks and cigarettes at a small shop by the road. Right now I also work for an organization building canals and carrying dirt in exchange for rice.

On the new building:

I am very happy with the new building. The old building was not appropriate for studying not only because the old building didn’t have enough rooms for all the students, but also it was about to fall down, and the tin roof was full of holes. Whenever it rained, classes had to cease.
