The Takao Onoda School

Hoeun Srey Oun is a fifth grade student at the Takao Onoda School.
In her class of fifty students, she was ranked third.

On herself: I am thirteen years old, and the youngest in my family of ten. My parents are both rice farmers, but they also grow vegetables. Our house is a fifteen-minute walk from school.

On the new building: I am very glad that someone supported me with a new building. The old building was narrower and the desks were broken. It made studying very difficult. It is easier to study in the new building because the classroom is larger, and there are new, strong desks.

Favorite subject: I like math the best, because it teaches me how to calculate prices.

In her spare time: I take care of the cows and help my parents boil rice.

After primary school: After I graduate primary school, I’d like to go on to Secondary school. I want to get more education. That way I can better use my knowledge to find a good job. Eventually, I would like to work as a teacher, because I want to teach the next generation.
