Ol Teu is 11 years old and in fourth grade at the Toshio Nakamura School.

Ol Teu is 11 years old and in fourth grade at the Toshio Nakamura School. He was ranked first among his 53 classmates. His mother is a farmer and his father is a village chief of Tra Yorng Porng, a village near the school. His house is about 1.5 km away from the school, and he rides his bicycle to school. He has five brothers and two sisters. Three of them come to study at this school.
In Their Own Words
On the new building: | “I like the concrete building better than the old wooden building. It is comfortable for studying.

On his aspirations: | I have never left the village since I was born. Not even to go to Phnom Penh. However, if I can get enough money, I would like to visit Japan. I would also like to be a teacher when I grow up.”
