In Their Own Words. . .

On the new building: “I go to school on foot and I like the new school building very much because it is brand new and makes learning easy.”

On school subjects: “I like mathematics because it is easy to understand and I learn how to calculate things quickly.  I like Khmer, too, because it is my native language and it is important to me to learn reading and writing.”

On his hobbies: I like to help my parents with work at home when I have free time.  I have never left my village.   I don’t plan to graduate from another school because my family’s standard of living is so poor.  (The World Mate School No. Ten teaches first through fifth grade.

On the future: “If I could do anything, I would like to be a teacher because I am a part of my country’s development.  I want to teach mathematics and Khmer language because I want to help the kids in my village.”

Message for the donor:  “I would like to thank the donor for providing a building in which my younger sister and I can learn.  I wish him strength and good health.”
